Environmental sustainability is no longer just a conversation topic—it’s a responsibility. At Tomorrow Hub, we believe in taking concrete steps toward a greener future, and recently, we had the opportunity to do exactly that by participating in the international Erasmus+ project “Green Steps”, hosted in Diyarbakir, Turkey.
This project brought together young people from across Europe in a shared mission: to learn, exchange ideas, and act on pressing environmental issues affecting our planet. Representing Romania, our team joined participants from diverse cultural backgrounds to explore themes such as climate change, waste management, recycling, responsible consumption, and youth involvement in building sustainable communities.
A Hands-On Learning Experience
The program was rich in activities, from interactive workshops and discussions to outdoor actions and local study visits. These experiences not only deepened our understanding of environmental challenges but also showcased how different regions are addressing them in creative, community-centered ways.
Each session encouraged active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Whether we were working on group projects, taking part in debates, or brainstorming eco-friendly solutions, the energy and motivation among participants were inspiring.
Connecting Beyond Borders
Beyond the learning sessions, the “Green Steps” project offered a valuable cultural exchange. We connected with peers from various countries, discovered new perspectives, and built friendships that we hope will last long after the project’s end. It was a reminder that sustainability is a shared goal, and collaboration across borders can spark powerful change.
What We Take Home
The impact of this experience goes beyond knowledge. We return home with fresh ideas, renewed enthusiasm, and a clear vision of how we can bring the spirit of “Green Steps” into our local context. At Tomorrow Hub, we are now planning to develop follow-up initiatives that engage young people in environmental action at the community level.
