A Journey to Safeguard Our Heritage
In August 2025, Tomorrow Hub participated in the Erasmus+ training course “Our Heritage – Our Future” in Maceira–Fornos de Algodres, Portugal. Inspired by UNESCO’s 20 years of protecting living heritage, this project gathered youth workers and cultural advocates from across Europe, all passionate about safeguarding the stories, crafts, and traditions that connect us across borders.
Why Intangible Heritage Matters
During the training, our representatives explored the richness and fragility of intangible heritage — from traditional practices to local legends and community rituals. We discussed why it matters for young people, our sense of identity, and for building intercultural understanding in a fast-changing world.
Connecting, Collaborating & Creating
Through workshops, shared experiences, and creative teamwork, participants realized that protecting heritage is more than a responsibility. It’s a unique opportunity for youth to foster creativity, pride, and connection across generations.
One of the most exciting outcomes was the creation of a collective Intangible Cultural Heritage Booklet, a resource full of ideas and inspiration, designed and written by all involved.
Keeping Heritage Alive: Our Takeaway
For Tomorrow Hub, this project was a powerful reminder: heritage stays alive only if we keep it alive. Preserving our intangible traditions is about celebrating the past, but also building a brighter, more connected future for everyone.
